Living with anxiety, depression, or the impact of trauma can leave you feeling stuck in the same relationship patterns, asking yourself, “Why do I keep doing this?” These experiences can create self-doubt and make you question whether change is possible. But here’s the truth: you’re not broken. Therapy isn’t about fixing you, it's about reconnecting with your authentic self, learning to navigate your emotions, and finding ways to feel more grounded, balanced, and confident. My work is built on a foundation of the belief that everyone possesses health, sanity, and wisdom regardless of how disconnected they feel from it or the problems presenting in their life. I support clients tired of being pathologized and ready to become authors of their own experience through self-defined narratives of healing. For over 10 years, I served my community as a crisis counselor in various capacities and sat with folks experiencing the worst moment of their lives. I have yet to meet a person who is beyond help or "too much." Through my career, I have honed a unique ability to work with suicidal thoughts, addiction, anger and psychosis. You are not broken. You are not alone. From city streets to field medical tents in the mountains, I have seen the most extreme forms of mental anguish and learned even in the darkest nights there is always hope, beauty and resilience to be found. Let me help you discover the same.

I hold dual board certification as a Family and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (FNP, PMHNP) with 27+ years of experience in a wide range of professional NP roles (clinician, manager, educator). Graduating from Georgetown University with a BSN, I practiced as an RN and 10 years later completed a master’s degree at the University of New Mexico leading to FNP certification. After decades of involvement in health promotion activities that have dovetailed with my career, the mental health challenges that I observed while working on the front lines of the pandemic inspired me to complete my second master’s degree. I regard my career as more of a calling than a job. My passion and privilege are to offer consultation from a compassionate, evidence-based, and holistic perspective. My intent is to promote patient involvement in and understanding of how their goals and plan of care can support their healing journey toward a purposeful life. After growing up in Washington, D.C., I moved to Santa Fe, NM to complete certification in massage therapy and teach yoga. I’m delighted to have decades calling Colorado home. Now, I live in Boulder and enjoy activities in nature (all seasons and ecosystems), care for animals, travel adventures, service opportunities, music as well as studying yoga and tai chi for more than 30 years. Your mental health concerns, questions, and experiences are welcome, and will be approached with care and respect.

To speak of one’s experience can open the door to self-examination and potential change. By giving voice to thoughts that are otherwise left unsaid, it’s possible to both articulate one’s pain and find ways out of suffering. As a clinician, I seek to give each individual room to speak freely and openly about their experience of life, without offering prescriptive solutions to unique concerns. My clinical approach is primarily psychoanalytic and psychodynamic, where I invite people to speak of their experience without censoring their thoughts, leaving room for the expression of something unexpected. I also draw from other practices, including cognitive behavioral therapy and narrative therapy, if they suit a particular client or situation. Just as each individual is different, so is every treatment.
