Therapy enables us to heal ourselves and sharpen access to our wisest intuition. As your therapist, I will provide a comfortable space for self-reflection, where you will come to understand yourself at the deepest level. In our work together, you will learn to nurture yourself as you build inner strength and serenity. I’ve worked in community mental health, psychiatric hospitals, outpatient treatment centers, and private practice. Driven by curiosity, empathy, and integrity, my approach is built on the belief that every person is capable of growth. My goal is for you to leave each session feeling seen and understood, and to end therapy as your most authentic self. Though there is always darkness in life, I believe light can be found by those who want to see it. I am not afraid of the dark. Bring me your darkness—your pain, your confusion, your hurt—and we will walk together as you find your guiding lights.

I am a board-certified, Harvard-trained psychiatrist and co-founder of Boston Psychiatry Center. My mission is to provide thoughtful, high-quality, and accessible outpatient psychiatric care for patients and their families. I take time to get to know each patient as a person, not just a collection of symptoms. I believe that understanding someone’s story (how they think, feel, and navigate challenges) is essential to helping them improve. In addition to my work at Boston Psychiatry Center, I am on staff at McLean Hospital and MGH. These experiences let me stay at the forefront of psychiatric research and clinical care. I offer financial discounts to students using out-of-network benefits. If I am out-of-network with your plan, I can process your out-of-network claims so you only pay your portion of the cost (your coinsurance). I prescribe medications, offer therapy, can provide a second opinion, and I can mix-and-match as needed to tailor care to your needs. I am comfortable with a wide range of mental health concerns, including mood disorders, anxiety disorders, and ADHD. Reach out if you want someone who is personable and compassionate, but also willing to challenge you to reach your goals. I am told that I am deeply attentive, mixing serious moments with much-needed fun and humor. I enjoy getting to know my patients, connecting with them, and watching them improve.

My name is Dr. William Butler, and I am a Harvard-trained, board-certified psychiatrist. I have advanced training from Massachusetts General Hospital, McLean Hospital, and Harvard Medical School. I work with adult patients experiencing depression and mood disorders, anxiety, trauma-related symptoms, personality patterns, and neurodevelopmental conditions such as ADHD and autism. My approach is grounded in evidence-based medication treatment and skills-focused, intensive psychotherapy, tailored to each patient’s needs and goals. I offer financial discounts to students using out-of-network benefits. If I am out-of-network with your plan, I can process your out-of-network claims so you only pay your portion of the cost (your coinsurance). I help students and young adults facing a broad range of concerns, including mood, anxiety, and trauma-related challenges who seek evidence-based treatment and a psychiatrist who thinks with them. I offer psychotherapy, medication management, and practical planning for work, school, and relationships. Starting treatment is a meaningful step, especially if previous approaches haven’t been helpful. My role is to offer clear, thoughtful care and working together to craft a treatment plan. I'd be happy to connect to answer any questions about my approach and to see if working together could be a good fit.

With over two decades in healthcare, I’ve had the privilege of caring for others both directly and through innovative technology solutions. Along the way, I discovered that true well-being extends beyond physical health; it includes nurturing the mind and spirit. This realization led me to mindfulness, yoga, and meditation—practices that transformed my life and helped me feel more present, grounded, and compassionate. Inspired by this journey, I became a certified yoga instructor and completed counseling training, deepening my commitment to creating space for healing and growth. Today, I bring together years of experience and a passion for holistic wellness to support individuals through life’s challenges. My approach is rooted in evidence-based practices and guided by compassion, offering a safe, non-judgmental space where you can feel truly seen, heard, and empowered. I believe in the transformative power of presence and in honoring the natural connection between body, mind, and spirit. These values shape every interaction, allowing me to respect your unique story, identity, and lived experiences as we work together toward the life you envision. My goal is to walk alongside you not just as a counselor, but as a partner in your journey toward growth and well-being.

As a South Asian, queer, and neurodiverse individual, my intersecting identities have deeply informed my therapeutic practice. I understand the complexities of growing up in an Asian American household while navigating additional layers of identity like gender, sexuality, and disability. These personal experiences and my background in social work and psychology have enabled me to empathize with those who share similar identities and have felt unheard, often caught between different aspects of who they are and who they want to be. In other words, I see you and I hear you. I believe that you know yourself best. Your decision to seek services already demonstrates a strong desire for change. As a clinician, I view my role not as someone who "fixes", but as a supportive guide on your journey. My approach is rooted in compassion, providing tools, and gentle direction, as I firmly believe in your capacity for transformation. I aim to create both a safe environment to reflect on experiences and a brave space that encourages personal growth.I draw from liberatory and anti-racist approaches because I believe it is equally important to situate ourselves within the broader systems that shape our experiences. I also recognize the power of creativity in healing, and can incorporate art and narrative therapy to help you retell your story in a way that best resonates with you. Given my background and clinician aspirations, I am particularly passionate about working with South Asian/BIPOC individuals and those from other varied backgrounds, including LGBTQIA+ and neurodiverse people. I look forward to being a part of your journey!

I strive to create a warm, welcoming, and nonjudgemental space where you feel comfortable being your most authentic self. My goal is to work alongside you, building on your strengths to navigate any challenges you may be facing. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Applied Psychology and Human Development and a Master's in Social Work, both from Boston College. I also have experience in the humanitarian sector, supporting mental health and psychosocial well-being in diverse settings. In therapy, I draw from a variety of evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Play Therapy, and more. Hi, I’m Sara (she/her). My approach to therapy is warm, honest, curious, non-judgmental, and above all, relational. My primary focus is on co-creating an authentic therapeutic relationship where you experience the safety, empathy, and trust which make room for experimenting with new ways of thinking and being. I believe there is no one “right” way to engage in therapy, just as there is no one “right” way to live a life. Sometimes we need to deeply understand (and mourn) the past, sometimes we need practical tools for navigating a challenging present, and sometimes we simply need space to be witnessed without having to hold it all together. I am interested in working with clients across the lifespan and with a variety of presenting concerns. Our work might range from open-ended “talk therapy” to more structured interventions depending on what works best for you. You certainly don’t need to come in knowing exactly what you need out of therapy, either: we can figure it all out together! My work is integrative, drawing from a variety of theoretical orientations including trauma- and complex trauma-informed, attachment-informed, psychodynamic, and cognitive-behavioral. I have clinical interest and prior experience in working with complex trauma survivors as well as with adult women with lived experience in the commercial sex trade, including trafficking and exploitation. In addition to counseling, I am a member of the Human Trafficking Research Hub at William James College, where I contribute to research on the psychological consequences of sex trafficking. I received my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a Holistic Studies specialization from Lesley University and a B.A. in English and Creative Writing from Wellesley College (Go Blue!). Whether or not we end up working together, I hope the right help finds you, and that whatever you’re holding grows lighter to carry.

As a master’s candidate in Expressive Arts Therapy at Lesley University, I understand and encourage everyone’s natural capabilities of imagination, creativity, and play. In my practice, I believe in using the arts (music, visual, narrative, and more) to connect with and explore our internal world, providing an outlet for expression in handling difficult emotions, stress, interpersonal relationships, grief and other life circumstances. My approach is strength-based, culturally informed and trauma-sensitive. I offer a safe space to explore personal narratives through a judgment-free and affirmative lens, considering systemic barriers and oppressive structures that affect a person’s overall well-being. I identify as LGBQTIA+ and am mindful of the stigma and challenges faced by marginalized communities. I also have years of experience working with neurodiverse populations in individual and group settings.
