Therapists for college students near Portland, OR
Heather Rose
Hi, I'm Heather Rose, a psychiatric Nurse Practioner. My path into psychiatry was shaped by years of clinical experience working with people during some of the most difficult moments of their lives. I take a warm, collaborative approach with young adults navigating anxiety, depression, ADHD, and much more. My goal is to meet you where you are and work together at a pace that feels right for you. I am glad you are here and considering options for yourself. Often, the hardest part is believing that things can be better. Do you feel out of sync, trapped by overthinking, a perpetual knot in your stomach, or a weight on your chest? Maybe you are persistently under a cloud of exhaustion or the mental strain of regulating your attention. Is it a feeling of being stuck on a treadmill: always in motion, but never arriving at a place of peace? Whether navigating restless anxiety, low mood, pressures of college or playing a sport, let's find a way for you to regain traction and move forward with clarity. As a PMHNP, I offer an active, collaborative space. My approach integrates the basic: sleep, nutrition, and movement, with the options of psychotherapy and medication management. We tailor these tools to help you identify and reach your own specific goals. We will focus on building a foundation for tangible action, relief, and feeling better. In our sessions I provide a steady, informed presence where we can explore your experience at your own pace. My role is to offer the support and tools you need to navigate life with more resilience and ease. If this resonates with you, please reach out to schedule a session via telehealth or my NE Portland office or. I look forward to supporting you.
Linda Berlingen, LPC
Linda is a Licensed Professional Counselor who is an Existentialist and a Rogerian, with a down-to-earth approach. As an Existentialist, she believes that people are at greatest ease when they feel a sense of meaningfulness in their life experiences. Everything that happens to us, shadowy or light-filled, holds valuable lessons for growth and makes us all that we are, and all that we have the potential to be. As a Rogerian, her therapeutic style is to provide safety and unconditional positive regard to those with whom she is working. Rogerian therapists typically believe that through modeling unconditional positive regard to you, you may catch on to the idea and begin to similarly value yourself. The end result is increased self-esteem and efficacy in the world. Linda has been counseling people in the Portland area for over a decade and has extensive training and experience in her field. She is specially trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. These modalities contain practical tools that will help you to recognize unhelpful thought patterns that often have people repeating the same life circumstances over and over. The more we can look at and recognize our contribution to our circumstances, the more likely our circumstances are to improve.

At Green Sheep, we believe in making therapy a space for creative experimentation, playfulness, and gratifying personal expansion. Practicing from an integrative feminist, strength-based, existential perspective, we affirm that every person is capable of utilizing and building upon their strengths and resources. I work with teens, adults, pre-teens, partners/relationships, families, and groups. I work with a range of people, and enjoy working with those who have experienced family conflict or estrangement, dissociative disorders, anxiety, depression, body image issues, gender dysphoria, body dysmorphia, religious trauma, sexual trauma, medical trauma, or involvement in cults. As a counselor, I integrate various modalities into treatment based on client needs, including art therapy, relational cultural therapy, existential therapy, internal family systems, constructivist theories, and narrative therapy. Emphasizing parts work, my focus is on developing the inner healing intelligence that exists within each individual. Art therapy serves as a powerful tool in this journey, helping clients recognize, access, and connect with their inner healing intelligence through artistic expression. Whether you have prior art experience or not, art therapy is a tangible reminder of progress and aids in letting go of emotional burdens, facilitating positive and lasting change. We can decide together whether we might use art in our sessions together, and how it might be used. By learning new skills as well leaning on your inner healing intelligence, you can achieve deeper self-understanding, manage symptoms of anxiety, depression, and trauma, assert boundaries, and enhance self-image. Developing your authentic self becomes a powerful remedy for various emotional struggles, enabling a more balanced and fulfilling life. I am unable to accept insurance at this time, though I do help with billing out of network for those that have this option on their plan. Living with a mind that rarely slows down can make even ordinary days feel like a lot. When mental loops and daily frustrations take up so much of your energy, therapy can offer a space where you don't have to carry it all on your own. I specialize in supporting teens and adults with OCD, ADHD, and anxiety disorders in-person in Portland and virtually across Oregon. Together, we'll take time to understand what you're going through with curiosity and compassion. From there, we'll shape therapy around who you are and what you need so daily life can begin to feel more manageable. You're a person first, and therapy should make room for everything that makes you, you! I tailor our work to your needs and draw from evidence-based approaches like ACT, CBT, ERP, and Motivational Interviewing. I'll explain the why behind what we do and share tools openly so you always feel informed and involved as we move through the process together. I strongly believe therapy should be a collaborative process where your perspectives, experiences, and feelings matter at every step along the way. If you'd like to explore working together, I'd be glad to take that first step with you.

I believe healing and growth occur in psychotherapy when you first establish a supportive, collaborative therapeutic relationship. That is why I offer a safe, nurturing space where you can speak and be listened to with empathy and free from judgement. Past experiences, and how you attempt to understand them, can affect numerous areas of your life and sometimes lead you to feel stuck in certain patterns of behavior. In therapy, we will work together to help you better understand your behaviors, overcome life challenges, navigate obstacles, and build skills to cope with difficult emotions, so that you can find a new way forward. I value the unique aspects of each individual and therefore integrate a culturally sensitive approach with my patients. This means I understand that racial, cultural, religious, gender, and sexual identities interact with one’s beliefs and behavior, and believe that it is more effective to vary my therapeutic approach from person to person, depending on a client’s culture group, rather than to simply use the same standard treatment approach for everyone. My goal is to build a relationship based on authenticity and open communication throughout the course of therapy to ensure satisfaction. I’m here to listen, support and guide you on a healthy, empowered path.

Gabriella Losada
Feeling foggy or like you're in a dream (in a bad way)? Feeling detached from your body or your joy? At the risk of sounding like an infomercial, I'm passionate about helping clients feel more present, embodied, and connected whether they're experiencing grief, dissociation (depersonalization or derealization), or burn out. I work best with folks who are motivated to put in work inside and outside of session in order to inch closer to change. There is so much to grieve in the world right now but I'll be alongside you to sit in the messy feelings and cheer on your wins. I use experiential (creative) and somatic (body-focused) techniques for additional ways of processing grief, loss, or disconnection. Experientially, we might write, make art, use music, or create a tangible coping tool you can use. Somatically, this might mean grounding exercises, movement, guided visualizations, or just pausing and noticing the body. Your healing process is important and I don’t believe in taking away coping mechanisms that have allowed you to survive until now. Instead, the idea is to explore different options to help you sift through complicated situations or feelings and help you evaluate what's no longer serving you. Reach out if we might be a good fit. I'd love to hear from you!
Aud Perkins, Professional Counselor Associate, NCC
Hi, I'm Aud, a Professional Counselor Associate with over five years of experience providing counseling services to students in educational settings. I provide telehealth therapy to college students experiencing anxiety, trauma & burnout I work with individuals who appear to have it all together on the outside—but underneath, they're spread thin, drained, and disconnected from themselves. Maybe you're the reliable one showing up for others, while dreading letting anyone down. You're always doing, always on, and guilt gnaws when you try to stop. Relaxing feels impossible, so you never feel fully rested. In all of this, you may find yourself asking, 'does life have to be this hard?' If any of this resonates, you deserve a space to breathe and truly be heard. I aim to help you slow down, reconnect with yourself, and find more balance in your life. My approach, grounded in person-centered theory, is warm and collaborative, while holding you accountable to the reasons you're seeking therapy. I begin by taking the time to truly understand how you experience the world—what feels heavy, what energizes you, and what patterns keep you weighed down. By listening deeply and reflecting your perspective, our work builds clarity and connection. As this unfolds, you'll gain confidence, learn to identify and advocate for your needs, and gradually find more balance and ease in your life. I especially enjoy working with clients who are high-achieving and/or adult children of immigrants hoping to explore their intersecting identities and heal generational trauma. Starting therapy may feel uncomfortable if you're not used to prioritizing yourself, and I'm here to remind you that you deserve the same care and support you offer to others. Therapy with me is a space where you don't have to perform—you get to just be.

E and Bee Somatic Therapy
Hi! My name is Elisha and I'm the clinician and owner of E and Bee Somatic Therapy. My ideal client is someone who has experienced trauma, be it one event or layers of trauma occurring since childhood. They have been able to live a meaningful life to the best of their ability, but they might feel held back by feelings of control, hypervigilance, detachment, etc. stemming from the traumatic event(s). Trauma often shows up in our mood, relationships, and physical health so there may be multiple areas that are unsatisfying. My ideal client is ready to work hard to address this!
