With over 15 years of experience in the mental health field, I am passionate about supporting young adults as they navigate life’s transitions and pursue meaningful growth. Whether you are a college student or recent graduate adjusting to a new season of life, an individual facing anxiety or depression, or a couple preparing for marriage or working to strengthen your relationship, I strive to provide guidance that feels both supportive and practical. My Christian faith shapes my personal values; however, I work with people from all backgrounds and beliefs. Faith-based perspectives are incorporated into counseling only if a client specifically desires it. My goal is to create a safe, welcoming space where you feel heard, understood, and supported. Life transitions—whether expected or unexpected—can feel overwhelming, but you don’t have to navigate them alone. Together, we can explore the challenges you are facing and work toward the emotional and personal goals that matter most to you. I specialize in working with adults experiencing life changes, including college and post-college transitions, and relationship challenges. I also support individuals navigating anxiety, depression, and stress that often accompany these seasons of change.

Stress, depression, anxiety, relationship issues, family issues, academic and career issues, and other difficulties are very common in our challenging times. Reaching out for help is the first step in finding solutions for your problems and achieving greater happiness. My job is to compassionately help you along the path toward feeling better by working with you to identify the sources of difficulty and the things that stand in the way of change, and developing a clear, approachable plan of action. My approach in therapy is based on the evidence of what works, and my understanding that the collaborative and supportive relationship you have with your therapist is a really important agent of change. I have a Psy.D. in Psychology with a specialization in cognitive neuropsychology and neurorehabilitation, and have been a Licensed Psychologist in the state of Pennsylvania since 1989. My background means that I have substantial training and experience in providing empathic and supportive therapy, as well as in clearly identifying underlying causes of difficulty and generating solutions. When not providing therapy, I am a research professor in cognitive neuroscience at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia. In addition to anxiety, depression, relationship issues, and family conflict, I also specialize in health-related issues and stress, including illness of oneself or family member. My practice also incorporates solution-focused sessions that often help with shorter-term goals. Together, we will identify concrete goals and develop a strategic plan of action that will make use of your natural resilience and strength to cope with problems and make changes. Hi, I'm Lori Gephart, a Licensed Psychologist in Pennsylvania. For more than three decades, I’ve helped adults navigate the challenges that can make life feel overwhelming including anxiety, panic, chronic stress, depression, and insomnia. If you’re exhausted from trying to manage everything on your own, you’re not alone, and you don’t have to keep pushing through without support. My approach is steady, practical, and compassionate. I focus on understanding what you’re carrying, how it’s affecting your daily life, and what will genuinely help you feel better. Together, we’ll work to reduce symptoms, build resilience, and create meaningful, sustainable change, not quick fixes or one‑size‑fits‑all solutions. Whether you’re dealing with long‑standing patterns or a recent spike in stress, therapy can help you regain clarity, restore balance, and reconnect with the parts of yourself that feel grounded and capable. If you’re ready to take the next step toward feeling more in control and more at ease, I’m here to help.

You might feel torn between what you want and what everyone else expects from you. You try to make the right choices, keep the peace, and be there for everyone, yet you are left feeling anxious, guilty, and unsure of your own needs. I work with women who feel stuck in relationships, career decisions, and life transitions, and who want to understand themselves more clearly and set healthier boundaries. My work is grounded in CBT, Mindfulness, EMDR, strengths-based therapy, and Trauma Informed care. I pay close attention to the mind-body connection because it often reveals what words cannot. Our goal is to help you feel more like yourself, more confident in your decisions, and more connected to what you truly want. I show up with honesty, compassion, and a little humor. I will support you, challenge you, and call out the patterns that keep showing up so you can stay focused on what matters to you. I have a passion for working with people who want to live more fulfilling lives with a more genuine connection to themselves and others. My clients feel more empowered in their actions and relationships instead of letting their unhelpful thoughts and behaviors take over, while growing a more accepting and compassionate perspective towards themselves. It’s always a good session when my clients feel challenged and motivated to work towards their goals between sessions. I believe that much of the therapy work is completed between sessions just as much as it is in the hour minutes we will spend together each week. As a therapist, I’m not afraid of bearing witness to your pain and fear while finding ways to recognize joy and hope. I truly believe in each of my clients’ ability to grow and change. As an Exposure-based therapist, I’ll encourage you to take steps to approach your fears and reclaim your life. As a woman of color, I am sensitive to the ways that identity and mental health intersect and impact each other. I take an action-oriented and direct approach. Therapy is an investment in YOU, and I value all that my clients put into this work. I aim to “work myself out of a job” with each client, because I know that the goal isn’t to stay in treatment forever– it’s to live happier and healthier lives.
